Robert Earl Keen, is a celebrated American singer-songwriter known for his storytelling prowess. With a career spanning over four decades, Keen has released 20 full-length albums, blending Americana, country, and folk influences. His signature song, “The Road Goes on Forever,” has become an anthem for many, showcasing his talent for crafting vivid narratives. Keen’s contributions to music have earned him a place in the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hallof Fame and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. His music, deeply rooted in Texas culture and landscapes, continues to resonate with fans across generations.

As Creative Director, I personified Robert Earl Keen’s digital presence. I designed his official website to be as dynamic and engaging as his music. I crafted captivating promotional materials for his tours and albums, created social media graphics that captured his essence, and managed the promotion and operation of his online store, transforming it into a vibrant marketplace. Every element was meticulously designed to reflect Robert’s unique artistry and storytelling. The highlight of working with Robert was when he pulled me aside backstage, introduced me, and said, “This is Charles Hancock. He gets me.”
WEBSITE REDESIGN
When redesigning Robert Earl Keen’s website, I set out to capture his one-of-a-kind essence. Robert’s lyrics are celebrated for their vivid storytelling and rich narratives, so I sprinkled his song lyrics throughout the site like hidden treasures. Known for his impeccable style, I muted the site’s colors to let his vibrant outfits and personality shine. I added textures and colors here and there to highlight different sections, ensuring the spotlight stayed on Robert—the man, the musician, the storyteller. And of course, I couldn’t forget the iconic “Front Porch,” where Robert stands, welcoming visitors with his legendary charm.
In addition to promoting new merchandise, I also managed Robert’s online store. My responsibilities included tracking inventory, updating product listings, providing customer support, optimizing the user experience, implementing online strategies, conducting email marketing and social media campaigns, managing payment gateways, and ensuring data compliance.
